AI phone receptionist

How to choose who your AI receptionist transfers calls to

Short answer

Your AI receptionist can pass a call to up to 3 people at your business, announcing the caller first, during the hours you choose. If nobody answers, it takes a message and books the appointment. To set it up, send us who should receive the calls and at what times, and we leave it ready on your receptionist.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Choose who receives the calls

Up to 3 people at your business, each with their name and their U.S. phone number.

  2. Step 2: Choose the hours

Tell us the days and times when the receptionist may transfer. Outside those hours it takes the message and books the appointment.

  3. Step 3: Send it to us

Write to support@autorys.com, or use the chat at the bottom of the page, from the email of your account, with the names, numbers and hours.

  4. Step 4: We set it up

We add the transfer to your receptionist with those people and hours, and let you know when it is ready.

  5. Step 5: Test it

Call your business number during those hours, don’t pick up, and ask the receptionist to talk to a person.

Good to know

  • Before passing the call, the receptionist announces who is calling.
  • If nobody answers, it goes back to the caller, takes the message and books the appointment.
  • If someone reports a gas smell, a fire or an injury, it never transfers: it tells the caller to hang up and dial 911.
  • To change the people or the hours later, write to us again with the new details.
