Step by step
-
Step 1: Get your receptionist’s number
When you sign up for the AI receptionist, you get a phone number included in the price. That is where your unanswered calls will go.
-
Step 2: Find your carrier’s forwarding code
Look for conditional forwarding: “when I don’t answer” or “when I’m busy”. On many U.S. carriers the code is *72 or *71, but it varies by carrier. Your panel shows the steps.
-
Step 3: Turn on forwarding
From your business phone, follow your carrier’s instructions with the code and your receptionist’s number.
-
Step 4: Test it
Call your business number from another phone and don’t pick up. Your AI receptionist should answer with your business name.
-
Step 5: Check the report
When the test call ends, you get an email and a CRM alert with the summary, the recording and the transcript.
Good to know
- Your customers keep calling your usual number; nothing changes for them.
- The calls you answer stay with you: only the ones you miss or that find you busy go to the receptionist.
- Your carrier also has a code to turn forwarding off whenever you want.
- For now, the AI receptionist is available only for businesses in the United States.
